Life Wall by Panasonic. An extremely thin 150″ TV that does amazing things. It has face recognition so that it recognizes the face(s) that watch it and adjusts the display or program to that person’s preferences automatically.
How about having a TV that will move with you as you walk around the living room to keep the display right in front of you? The display would be large or small depending on how far away from the screen you were. It could display a screen saver instead of a black screen when turned off.
Powerful life-size images could dance with you, and videophone linkups would look like the caller was in the same room.
Video games would take on a whole new dimension with endless possibilities. School could be at home while the teacher could be at school. IP cameras would give the feeling of being there. None of this is science fiction. This is all part of Panasonic’s Life Wall TV.

Panasonic turning cellphone to next Plasma
Panasonic is working on a new low-voltage (1.5v) plasma technology which it says will rival OLED displays in brightness, thinness, and contrast. Better yet, Panasonic claims that its plasmas can be manufactured for "much less money" than OLEDs. Panny already has plans to include their new plasma displays in cellphones for use with AT&T's Mobile TV service, gas pumps, ATMs, and on HP printers under a new exclusive two-year deal. Color us impressed if the new displays look anything like the 3.5-inch, 854 x 480 pixel Viera phone instead of that anemic looking phone pictured above which accompanied the press release.
Panasonic’s 103-inch
Remember the Panasonic’s 103-inch plasma TV? It was once the world’s largest Plasma TV but it has been replaced by the 150-inch model this year announced at CES 2008. Anyway, if you wonder anyone would spend that sort of money to get a $50,000-$80,000 plasma instead of a projector, think again. The news from Far East reveals there have been 15 of them sold worldwide from US, Europe to Japan, and 5 of them were sold to a man from Middle East. But they are still far from reaching the 5000 units target, the 150-inch replacement seems to be a better and more logical choices over projector. Time will tell.
